The largest, most modern and best-equipped animal shelter in Galveston County, the Animal Resource Center provides animal services to Bayou Vista, Hitchcock, Kemah, La Marque, Texas City, Tiki Island and unincorporated Galveston County, as outlined in an inter-local agreement.

The Animal Resource Center cares for close to 5,000 dogs and cats each year. We save lives by reuniting pets with owners, placing pets in foster care with amazing community members, partnering with 501c3 Rescue Groups, and adoptions.

Our adoption fee includes rabies vaccination, a microchip and spay or neuter.
